Park Court tenant secures dismissal of murder allegation
Tenant Gul Nawaz Hussain defended in a recent case of joint enterprise murder where it was alleged that a car had been driven at a group of men following earlier incidents of gang violence.
The case echoed aspects of the much publicised incident in Birmingham where, during the recent riots, three men lost their lives.
Gul's client was a rear seat passenger in the vehicle and, following defence submissions, the case against him was dismissed on the day of trial.
Chambers has had a significant involvement in the area of joint enterprise murder. Head of Chambers, Robert Smith QC, together with Michael Harrison QC and Paul Greaney QC appeared in the House of Lords case of Rahman, a leading authority on joint enterprise murder.
