Chambers & Partners 2008
Park Court Chambers are recommended in Chambers & Partners 2008 in Crime and Health & Safety:
Crime: "In Leeds 45 out of the 57 members of Chambers practise criminal law, either as a specialism or as part of a wider practice. The set is thus able to offer barristers of all levels of seniority to tackle all shades of the criminal spectrum. Unsurprisingly it is the heavyweight silks who command the most attention.
Simon Bourne-Arton QC boasts an expertise in defending serious crime. Recently elected head of circuit, he is "a polished performer" according to peers. One of the brightest stars on the circuit is Robert Smith QC. With a practice largely centred around prosecution, he is appreciated by solicitors for his "tidy courtroom manner" and because he is "well liked by judges". Testament to his standing, he was chosen to prosecute the murderers of PC Sharon Beshenivsky. Michael Harrison QC is equally respected. An expert on murder and fraud in particular he "stands out for the quality of his preparation and advocacy - attributes that win him results time after time." Bryan Cox QC has a similar practice but leavens it with a good deal of health and safety work. "He thrives because he never shirks the task, however weighty or seemingly hopeless it is." Paul Greaney is a notable junior whose "victories speak for themselves."
Health and Safety: "One of the best sets for health and safety in the North."
Robert Smith QC is "sensible and technically astute." He acts on a mix of civil, criminal and regulatory matters proving expert on health and safety, complex scientific and human rights issues.
