Stephen Uttley secures acquittal of professional rugby league player

George Flanagan, a professional rugby league player, was acquitted unanimously by a jury at Bradford Crown Court at the end of September 2009 after a two week trial.   Instructed by Khan Solicitors of Bradford, the jury took just over 2 hours to return a not guilty verdict.  The case against Mr Flanagan and 9 others was that between 1 July 2008 and 2 December 2008 they had conspired to supply on a large scale Class A drugs in the West Yorkshire and Liverpool areas.  Mr Flanagan was the only Defendant to be acquitted out of all Defendants that were prosecuted in the proceedings.
