Tart-athon

Park Court Chambers yesterday held a sponsored tart-athon in aid of two charities - Children in Need and also New Futures Nepal, a charity set up to raise funds for disabled and disadvantaged children in Nepal.  Robert Smith QC, Ian Brook and Ben Campbell competed to see who could eat the largest number of jam tarts. The event was adjudicated by the Senior Clerk, Jo Pickersgill with Chambers First Aider and master tart baker, Carol Arundel, on stand by. It was in fact a dead heat with Ian Brook and Ben Campbell eating an impressive 23 jam tarts and Robert Smith a disappointing 16! Even more impressive was the fact that Ian Brook and Ben Campbell had both had a full lunch prior to the commencement of the competition. A fantastic £615 was raised for the chosen charities. Thank you to everyone concerned in organising the event and to those who have generously given.  For more information on New Future Nepal see www.newfuturesnepal.org
