Employment
‘Paul Kirtley heads the Employment Group in which Ceri Widdett is well followed’ (Legal 500 2009)
Our team of employment law barristers are based in Leeds but are frequently instructed to represent clients throughout the country. We have expertise across the full range of employment issues, including:
· Unfair and wrongful dismissal
· Whistleblowing
· Redundancy
· All forms of Discrimination
· Victimisation
· Working Time Regulations
· Transfers of Undertakings
· Equal Pay
Our clients range from individual employees through to local authorities and large private sector employers. We are instructed in the full scope of employment law work, from advice pre-litigation through to multi day discrimination cases and Appeals.
In addition, members of our team undertake Employment related work in the County Court and the High Court, in particular cases concerning:
· Restrictive Covenants
· Confidentiality
· Contractual disputes
· Stress at Work
Chambers also has a team with particular expertise representing professionals at disciplinary tribunals.
We are very aware that immediate advice is often required and are committed to providing an urgent response in such cases.
We also recognise that Mediation can be effective in Employment disputes, particularly where there is an ongoing employment relationship and/or issues of confidentiality. We can offer employment law barristers who have particular expertise in this form of dispute resolution.
You will find us at meetings of the Employment Lawyers’ Association and Industrial Law Society. Within Chambers, we have a positive ethos of development with members meeting regularly and discussing developing legal issues.
We hold regular Seminars and offer an E-elerts service to our clients. If you would like more information about forthcoming Seminars or our E-elerts service, please contact Karen Wade at karen@parkcourtchambers.co.uk
