Employment

Employment Law has seen many changes and almost constant evolution over the last 10 years. The growth in discrimination and whistleblowing claims and the substantial extension of rights heralded by the “family friendly” policies has been marked.

The Employment Team has risen to this challenge in a dynamic and forward manner. We have a wide range of experienced practitioners who regularly undertake Tribunal and Court work and advise on practically every level of employment case.

We engage regularly in the delivery of training and seminars, both in house to solicitors clients and on an open basis. We work for a wide range of lay clients, from the modest claim of unfair selection for redundancy for the Claimant to acting for large public bodies responding to multi-party litigation involving often sensitive issues.

We are often called upon to consider urgent issues relating to restrictive covenants and their applications to department employees – both from the employer and employee perspective.

Our style is inclusive with involvement often from an early stage. We understand how ADR/Mediation can properly be utilised in cases particularly where there exists the potential for an ongoing employment relationship. The employment team regularly support each other and there is a positive ethos of development and discussion with regard to case management and legal issues.

You will find our team members at meetings of the Employment Lawyers Association and Industrial Law Society. We are committed to providing quality service both by way of advocacy and advice that this challenging areas of practice requires.
